  1. The Quinta church/Sunday School has no or very limited parking. Nothing compared to what is available at the Institute. I think most of your parking trouble is that locals feel the need to drive there and some of their parking is terrible! Would 50 people cause enough extra burden on the drainage system to turn down extra business??
  2. The school parking really isn't that bad. Yes there are are few people who park in stupid places but this is due to people not knowing the highway code or not having any common sense. It is such a limited time, and doesn't warrant opening the field to parking. If it is such a problem to you adjust your travelling time.
  3. Don't do anything with 3D scanners printers much now, but I have seen it used to good effect. Patient with smashed left cheek bone, 3D scan of right bone, mirrored in CAD, 3D printed in wax, investment cast and inserted as replacement. No need to go to your local print shop.... if you don't have your own printer you just create any model you want in CAD, email to RP bureau and they create and mail your model in pretty much any material you want. The early stereoliithography machines were big money, talking 250K, but now you can buy relatively cheap desktop 3D printers
  4. I am a bit of an RP geek, and its nothing new. I did a fair bit of research of the technology as part of a uni project at Loughbrough back in '98!
  5. With an increase in population this situation can only get worse. An ever growing village with only one real main road. The school problem is a very limited time, just 20 - 30 mins a day. The post office area is indeed a problem. However, I think the main problem is due to peoples lack of road knowledge and common sense.
  6. If there is coffee and biscuits I can do some painting :)
  7. Did you know Weston Rhyn is recorded as Westune in the Doomsday book. “Tun” or “ton” means a settlement or hamlet, “ rhyn” means a hill or mount.
  8. Couldn't think of a title for this week, training has been a little bit less than normal this week, Valentines day and other commitments took priority. Got in a couple of runs, which are going pretty well, (averaging close to 7minute 30 second mile now) just one trip to the gym. Turbo training was a pretty good session this week, burning nearly 1200kcals! Managed to squeeze in an hour ride on the roads before watching the pro's show us how its done on the track. So all in all, not a bad week training wise and another 0.5kg lighter. Want to see if I can drop another 2kg by the end of the month...... that only gives me 9 days but I should be able to get some decent training in this week although its England against Wales in the 6 nations and Carling Cup final on Sunday.... actually that 2kg is looking less likely! Here we go..... Week 7
  9. Book available from Amazon for just £6.07 Link - <a href="http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/1906122199/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=silocentral-21&linkCode=as2&camp=1634&creative=19450&creativeASIN=1906122199">It Happened in Shropshire</a><img src="http://www.assoc-amazon.co.uk/e/ir?t=silocentral-21&l=as2&o=2&a=1906122199" width="1" height="1" border="0" alt="" style="border:none !important; margin:0px !important;" />
  10. Well, looks like this is the last day we will see the Cross Keys pub in Weston Rhyn as demolition started this morning. Such a central icon to the village will be no more.
  11. Missed the week 5 update, can't recall why now. Perhaps I was still suffering from being frozen out on the bike in sub zero conditions, didnt quite feel that cold when I left but certainly was when I returned. Hands were frozen and couldn't hold the bars as well as feet like blocks of ice., and the pain when it all thawed out was..... well not pleasant :( No Wednesday night footy so I have been back at Turbo's and squeezing the gym sessions/swims so all going reasonably well. Slight mechanical fault on the last ride, with rear mech failure, cable retention bolt decided to fall off so I couldnt get any gears. Which reminds me I need to get that sorted before Wednesdays turbo session. Weight looks like its going to the right way too...... if the initial reading on the scales was correct I am now nearly 7kg lighter (about 15.5lb) in ummm 5 weeks is it? So here we go...... week 6
  12. I can only think of one house in the Rhyn that has them installed, just asked someone at work but he hasn't had his installed yet. Will be interesting to know your experiences with them and the returns, thinking about getting them myself.
  13. The book you mention is available from Amazon for £6.38, Link - <a href="http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/1907552170/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=silocentral-21&linkCode=as2&camp=1634&creative=19450&creativeASIN=1907552170">The Un-familiar Cat</a><img src="http://www.assoc-amazon.co.uk/e/ir?t=silocentral-21&l=as2&o=2&a=1907552170" width="1" height="1" border="0" alt="" style="border:none !important; margin:0px !important;" />
  14. Valentines day..... how romantic. Maybe because its a old flame?
  15. Simon, yes I assumed it was Old Oswestry, but didn't realise it was actually in the Gobowen and Selattyn Parish.
  16. @Simon, you are on a roll! LQ is in kind of a no mans land but I think they go as Weston Rhyn. @Maggie, Hillfort in Gobowen??
  17. The path running from Bronygarth road, cutting across a small part of the wood is indeed a right of way. I believe the other path was never official and their has been a "case" recently about the pathway which is why, I assume, it is now closed. There is a rather lengthy document available on the internet if you do a search for Temple Wood, Weston Rhyn.
  18. @Kerry its apparently Grade II listed and I believe was commissioned or built by a Major West, and as you say probably a replica of Stone Henge. I too have seen the do not enter sign, although I think its probably a bit of H&S and protecting the owner. @Matthew I think it used to under the ownership of the Quinta, but hasn't been for some time. I have heard that it is under the ownership of whoever owns the Temple Wood
