Maggie 65 Report post Posted October 19, 2011 Can someone who went to the meeting last night report back to those of us who were too snug and warm at home to head out to St Martins?
leebarnfield 30 Report post Posted October 19, 2011 Maybe if they was a LJC contributor on the forum, maybe think about an LJC section in the forum?
Simple Simon 36 Report post Posted October 19, 2011 Okay, right...in a nutshell. A PACT presentation with some talk on alcohol free zones and doubts about the future of CSOs. Broadband in the area is patchy and is set to remain so for a number of months even though Shropshire Council have plans to improve the situation. Broadly speaking, the area youth who completed the survey are happy but they don't like litter. 13-14 year olds are the most unhappy (interestingly, 1 in 7 dwarfs are not Happy). Many kids have expressed an interest in having a permanant BMX/Skateboard track - but one was recently burnt down in Weston Rhyn (the same thing happened to one in Gobowen some years ago). A presentation on the Big Local Project, really stating their aims and objectives and how they're consulting with people (individuals), with a suggestion that they should consult with businesses to stimulate the economy. Some dosh was approved to various community projects (all getting a little bit less than what they had asked for). It was all topped off the some talk about the LJC Constitution and who gets to vote on what.
Maggie 65 Report post Posted October 19, 2011 Thanks Simon. Did anyone mention this forum starting up by any chance?
Maggie 65 Report post Posted October 19, 2011 Yeh, About broadband, has anyone looked at speeds across our villages? Would be easy enough to do a quick survey via people using this site because there are several online sites that test your download speed for you. I imagine it varies considerably across our area. leebarnfield 30 Report post Posted October 19, 2011 I did pop along to the meeting and had a brief word about the forum and gave out a few cards with the website address. There is a survey about the broadband over at http://www.connectingshropshire.co.uk
Maggie 65 Report post Posted December 22, 2011 Julie Ruler has just reminded me that the closing date for the next round of LJC funding is 9th January. Thinking caps on!
