neo 6 Report post Posted August 6, 2012 (edited) With the recent rise in online technologies, social media and chat forums like these are we becoming a nation of people who do their socialising online, do people meet face to face anymore or are we becoming part of the play station generation? Community Online 65 Report post Posted August 8, 2012 Neo, Interesting point and I think you are right that a lot of people do there socialising online. I personally have always used it as a tool to plan social occasions and share photographs with friends, and this has been my intention for Community Online, not to replace the face to face meetings but allow people to meet online but then take this virtual meeting and planning into the real world. It also allows the users to learn about all the events and activities in their local area and get involved their community. Hopefully this is how its being used, I don't get to hear about everything that goes on, but I do know of groups being set up and existing groups promoting their events in the calendar as well as people meeting and sharing their skills and expertise. Maggie 65 Report post Posted August 10, 2012 I would say that Community Online has made me friends, who I meet outside the internet to do things in the real world!
