Hi neo,
The three groups listed were the only people who came forward to apply for an award. Oswestry Drama Group put together a presentation and highlighted that at least a third of its members were from Weston Rhyn and the decision group felt it was deserving of a contribution.
The money will be put towards the production of A Midsummer Night's Dream in July

We will just need to coordinate at some point so go through your requirements and how to link with the Big Local site.

It was always the plan to have a specific section for Big Local, when we put in a bid with Lucid Creations to create the Big Local website.
However we didn't really ever get much in terms of feedback or communication with the old coordinator. I guess a lot of it was due to the fact that although things were happening behind the scenes at Big Local not much was required to be public domain. Now things are moving or at least appear to be maybe its time to readdress the Big Local section.
What do you think Big Local ?

Do you know a Big Local hero?
Someone who beavers away tirelessly to help make their Big Local area even better.
If there is somebody in your Big Local area whose dedication you think is worthy of recognition, please nominate them for an honour.
It is not only about saying thank you to one tireless community champion, but also letting people know what is happening through Big Local in yours and other areas. A great way to say a collective well done to all the people who give their time, ideas and energy in pursuit of making their areas even better.
The application process is quite straightforward. All you need to do is explain what makes someone’s contribution special, and the honours committee take it from there. You can find full details and step-by-step instructions here – https://www.gov.uk/honours/overview.

Basically its there in attempt to get back even a small amount of the costs of running the website.
The webspace, domain names, forum software licences all cost money and of course all my time is free.
If people buy items through the link then a very small percentage commission is given to CO.
