@Simon, there's Bryn-y-castell coppice too... Speaking of the meadows... what's the story there??? Does anyone own it? I know it's a lovely wild area but it's a bit of a mess, it could do with something grazing on it just to keep it tidy. There's another one for the list... we've got allotments!

I use buses and trains a lot. It's better value for money to travel to Wrexham by train than Oswestry by bus. This is based on the fact that a single ticket on the bus to Oswestry ( there is no return ticket) costs £2.00, a return train ticket to Wrexham is £4.80, there is a lot more choice in Wrexham. There are further savings if you have a railcard: for example with a family railcard 1 adult and 1 child return to Wrexham is £3.80, less than to Oswestry and back by bus.

Will the jubilee be incorporated into the Rose Queen or seperate? Years ago we used to have races for the kids and allsorts, somthing like that would be good, like the funday we had last year. Local groups can get involved: All rounders, scouts, Rainbows, I think the only problem will be finding volunteers to run it!

Did you find the culprits? Were they dealt with and will it make any difference?

I think it's Idris Roberts but I've heard a rumour that the reason it's closed is that it's been condemned... so it will probably just stay as it is until it falls down.

Yep, that was the last week it was opened... now it's empty again and the window is in pieces all over the pavement! Didn't last long did it?

I have emailed Shropshire Council and they have said they are piloting another way of collecting cardboard in Whittington. I asked if there was any chance a paper bin at the station could be replaced with a cardboard one. The answer at the moment is no. I also emailed the Parish Council and asked the same questions, they will be raising it at their next meeting. My suggestion is if we want a collection point in the village more people should do the same, we do live in a democracy after all...
