MarkB 4 Report post Posted May 12, 2014 Can somebody please shed some light on who chooses, or what process there are, for naming new roads in the community. I have found this interesting since the sign for Thomas Penson Road went up in Gobowen. I understand Thomas Penson was an innovative architect and designer of a number of bridges as well as public buildings, a school, church etc in Oswestry but does anybody know if he has any direct links to Gobowen? leebarnfield 30 Report post Posted May 12, 2014 Never heard of him before but found the wiki page on him interesting... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_Penson Seems to have been quite involved in the area, and interesting the reference to 'Pensons Chamber' number 35 Willow Street Oswestry.
