  1. We hope to open each Wednesday between 6.30pm and 8.30pm (except 2nd Wed) in the holidays so keep coming all you regulars. This Wednesday is PlayDay and we will be there from 1pm-4pm. Next evening session is 21.8.13. Volunteers welcome.
  2. Any one interested in helping young people create a short film and a news sheet for the area please get in touch. We have an animation and media session next Monday at the Pavilion 17.6.13 6.pm start. Please come along and join in. The usual weekly meeting is going well with lots to do and fun inside and out.
  3. Having helped set up the weekly sessions we are now getting 20 young people through the door most weeks. Do you have a skill or activity that you could come and provide. We rely on Carol and other volunteers to help us. If we could share the load it would really help
  4. We have asked for a replacement of the right end net. Hopefully it will be done this weekend. Silo Fund paid for them as young people say it makes play better. So do not despair help is at hand. Really nice of Silo Fund to support the young people.
  5. Delighted that we are doing well and starting to introduce sports activities. Just to let you know we are working with the Playingfield Committee and will soon have more equipment that the young people can have access to. We hope by October to have a screen and projector so that the Playstation can be played on a Big Screen. Our tuck shop goes down well with the youngsters and we now offer ice cold drinks, ice creams and a range of milk shakes. With all this comes more responsibility and if it was not for Carol volunteering we would struggle. Any one else willing to give up 2 hours now and again would be most welcome.
  6. Hi Yes we are looking forward to the Green Room's first Wellie Wanging. I have the pretiest Wellies so expect to win a prize. The challenge is on! Any one without a wellie is welcome we have some to share
  7. Come and join us at The Green Room Youth Project. We have fun sports and Wellie Wanging
  8. The Green Room Youth Project has Awards For All Funding to support sports sessions on the playingfield and also media sessions. We need volunteers to help with the project and energise the sessions with young people. Ideally we need a local artist to help with an art project. We also have a fine tuck shop and would welcome ideas of how we could look at opening the pavilion during the summer holidays to give young people access to snacks and sport equipment loan. Please contact Julie by email greenroomgobowen@live.co.uk or phone 01691 677301
  9. Hi I am the project leader at the Green Room and just for the record the main reason the youth session does not open more than 3 sessions a month is the cost involved. We need a minimum of 2 people to open and are fortunate to have a volunteer who helps every week. It is unfair to say that the parish council are to blame for there being only 3 to 4 sessions a month. If peopel come forward and are happy to volunteer we may be able to open more often. We have Awards for All funding and have some sports and media sessions to arrange so as soon as we are ready to role news will be posted. If anyone has time to spare please ring Julie on 01691 677301
  10. Great youth Group that needs young people to come along and get involved. We would love to see some people interested in volunteering as well
  11. The weekly youth sessions are suspended for xmas and our first session will be a really interactive fun session on Wed 18th January 2012. Please help us promote the drop in sessions to young people and ask them to come along. We now have table tennis, an ipod dock that young people can play their own music, games and art material. We are on the case for a new pool table and hope that is in place by Jan 2012. Please consider helping as a volunteer or joining our small management group. All are welcome!
  12. Thanks must go to the people involved in the Green Room Youth Project. The table arrived and was welcomed to the building by a strong chap who de boxed it! Then as there was a playing field council meeting I asked for volunteers to be spanner ready and three were. Unfortunatly the meeting was a long one and we did not have time so we had to leave it to Wednesday for our tttep (table tennis table errection party). 4 adults joined us an together they created a spenedid ttt. It can be used inside our outdoors single, double and crative play. All we need now is some young people to come along!
  13. Just to confirm the Green Room is open on Wednesday 6.30-8.30pm. We need young people to attend and support from any volunteers that could help. This group is new and not linked to Silo Central. The charity Silo Central is very supportive of the group and has given a commitment to offer donations and match fund our grant requests. Our new committee are committed to making this group work and appreciate the trust that we have been given by the parish council. We will use the Pavilion and have aspirations to extend what we offer as long as the young people want it. Pop in and see us please.
  14. Going to the Green Room Youth Project tonight. We have Hot Chocolate with choc chips!
