Three Parishes Big Local Community Plan

Recommended Posts

Local Trust, the organisation responsible for administering Big Local on behalf of the Big Lottery, has approved the Three Parishes Big Local Community Plan.

It is over 3 years since the early consultation phases of Big Local in Gobowen, St Martins and Weston Rhyn and the Community Plan is the end result.  The Community Plan sets out the projects and activities that the Big Local investment will fund over the next two years.

You can find a copy of the plan in the resources section of the Three Parishes Big Local website, www.big-local.org or by contacting the Big Local Co-ordinator, Bridget Laraway, on 01691 656882.  Condensed versions of the plan, which contain a summary of the key information and projects, will be available from shops, post offices, libraries and community centres around the villages later this month.

Something I noticed in the plan was the response to the surveys and questionnaires.

The September/October 2011 printed questionnaires - 3300 delivered, 421 responses. Approximately 13% return

The March/June 2013 consultation papers - 900 delivery, 50 responses. Approximately 6% return

Seems a bit poor seeing as its regarding a £1,000,000 spend in the local area, or is this a normal return rate for such things?

A lot of effort goes into these surveys and questionnaires and for such a poor return.  I always think its not a reflection of the community, its a response from the type of people who respond to questionnaires, but what can you do?
