Maggie 65 Report post Posted June 3, 2015 The application for a large scale development of houses in Aspen Grange has been thrown out by councilors despite officer recommendations for it to go ahead (it was part of the SamDev offer from Weston Rhyn). After hearing about flood and sewerage problems for residents in Aspen Grange, the Parish Council changed their minds and decided not to support the development because it was only going to make things a lot worse for the residents of the area, Shropshire Councillors supported this decision, Welsh water stated that houses could be built, but, until new sewers were built they would not pass them as safe to live in. That leaves the residents of Weston Rhyn in a bit of a quandary. We cannot build any more houses until we have an improved sewer system, but Welsh Water have no plans to do this.
