3PYA 5 Report post Posted July 23, 2012 We have completed our program of Summer activities for youth in the area and have loads of things to do over the weeks ahead. From skate boarding to geocaching and football coaching to raft making. It all starts this week with a skate boarding and BMX demonstration in St.Martins on Wednesday. All the events are posted in the calendar, we will post up a downloadable events list to print out to make sure you don't miss any of the activities as well as consent forms for the trips very soon so keep an eye out for those. In the mean time if you need any more information sent a message on here to 3PYA or suescho

suenick 7 Report post Posted August 2, 2012 Come on parents/grans/aunties/carers - have some peace at home - encourage young people to take part in our activities. We have some great activities organised in St Martins, Weston Rhyn and Gobowen.
suescho 3 Report post Posted August 20, 2012 It is a sadness to me that few youngsters have gotten involved with these activities. The second of the Skateboard Demos at St Martins Centre was quit well attended but the days out, Crocky Trail had 1 person respond, Geocaching and Stoksay Castle - 1 person responded and not 1 person responded for the Multi-activity day, so all 3 of these events had to be cancelled. You get youngsters saying that there's nothing to do and when you give them something to do they don't want to do it. Did we ask them what they wanted to do - Yes, there answer was Ten Pin Bowling, is that the best thing to do in the Summer Holidays (putting the weather to one side)! we hoped to get them out in the fresh air and do something different that didn't cost the earth. Am I disappointed - YES
Simple Simon 36 Report post Posted August 21, 2012 Selattyn & Gobowen Parish Council organised free Tennis Sessions every day last week. Two had to be canceled due to poor weather but all the others were very well attended with children, parents and grand parents. I also understand that the GO-lympics run by the Green Room Youth Project was so well attended last week that they're doing it all over again this Wednesday evening! To quote Winnie-the-Pooh, "...you never can tell".
WR Youthclub 9 Report post Posted August 21, 2012 We had 10 take part in the Speed Cage in Weston Rhyn, and a few of the Weston Rhyn Football club had a go too :) , but we only had 3 come to the fencing coaching :( . (Although we also had 3 who came late to have a look) Its a shame more didnt come to the fencing, it was a really great opportunity to have a go at something they would probably never get a chance to.
Simple Simon 36 Report post Posted August 21, 2012 Peter Todd delivered the Tennis Sessions in Gobowen, and he is really, really good with the kids. He works for Criftins Tennis Club doing Junior Coaching. I can send you his contact email address if you PM me.
