Maggie 65 Report post Posted November 2, 2011 Yes and thanks Lee for this post. We took £204 in book sales and some donations on Saturday at the seminar, this post plus the listing on the calendar meant that we were a little oversubscribed on the day of the seminar with quite a rush of new bookings coming in at the last minute (we had to order more food). We packed out the hall in the Marches and it got a bit hot and sweaty. The amount we took for book sales is more than double what we took last year. This was the only place we advertised the event, and the increase in bookings at last minute coincided with it going onto this site. By the way we still have some books left, (and if need be will have to do a reprint)! Very good value (the price is only to cover cost of printing). and the latest one has a particularly bloodthirsty paper about the Battle of Chester (AD 616) and the sorts of damage done to the skeletons examined by researchers, with illustrations. Maggie 65 Report post Posted February 29, 2012 We have put the seminar reports in the brand new sales cabinet in the brand new museum in the Guildhall in Oswestry.. Open on Friday. Museum policy is that if a community heritage group supports the museum (help, volunteers, loan of display material) then the museum will sell their books and booklets and any other suitable products with all money raised going back to the group. All the museum asks for is a small donation. Seems very fair.
