  1. Youthie reopens this Friday ( Sept 11th) at St Martins Centre. 7.30 - 9.00. All young people from Year 6 welcome. £1 entry, all activities free.

  5. First Aid is an important skill for all of us so please make use of these free sessions in St Martins.
  6. Get together with four friends and come along to St Martins Sports Hall on Saturday 16th and have a go at walking football. 3 Parishes Big Local Event starts at midday. Prize for winning team. ALL ages.
  7. Don't forget to get your entries in. Hope you gave a May 16th on your calendar for our event at St Martins Sports hall, 12.00-4.00.

  10. Well done to Sue Schofield and the parish council for an excellent meeting last night. Informative and well attended . Also thanks to all the groups who presented their reports.

  15. Any 'Face Painter' who could spare an hour at St Martins Youth Club tomorrow evening to "Make Your Face Funny For Money"? Will donate all takings to Comic Relief which could be £60!
  16. No mention of St Martins! Thanks for highlighting this event as I haven't received any notice.
  17. Come along to the Memorial Gardens on Saturday 13th at 4.30 pm to join in singing Carols and see the tree lights switched on.

  21. Over 50 people attended our Centenary Service and most came to our Bring & Share lunch. It was a fantastic occasion with many sharing memories and photos.
  22. Chapel and School room all set up for service and lunch tomorrow. Everybody welcome at 11.00.
  23. Happy Birthday to the St Martins Methodist Chapel building (Ellesmere Road) – 100 years old this year! An old red brick chapel was demolished and the existing one built in 1914. The foundation stone was laid on Easter Sunday with the official opening on December 17th. We are celebrating the centenary of our building on Sunday October 26th with a service at 11.00 followed by lunch in the School Room. Please come along to join our celebration, especially if you have fond memories of a wedding or baptism in the building. We hope to create a ‘Memory Board’ so look out any old photos or just write down your memories.
