Parish Clerk got a reaction from Maggie in WWI Centenary Project
In order to mark the centenary of WWI Selattyn and Gobowen Parish Council is planning to create a ring of remembrance on Gobowen Roundabout.
A temporary flower bed is going to be created along the circumference of the roundabout and it will be planted with poppy seeds, plug plants and
other red flowering plant to create a flower bed of red flowers throughout the summer of 2014.
Bed preparation has already started and planting will take place in Spring 2014. If you would like to volunteer to help out with this project
please could you contact the Parish Clerk.
In addition to this project there are also plans to improve the war memorial by hanging planters inside the railings planted with seasonal flowers
2014 will be a red and white theme. If anyone would like to be involved with the planter project or even sponsor or adopt a planter please also get in touch with the Parish Clerk.

Parish Clerk got a reaction from Robmit in Road Safety Concerns
Residents of the parish are invited to contact the Parish Council with any road safety concerns they may have relating to roads in the parish.
These will then be considered by the Parish Council at the September meeting. If the Parish Council agrees to support the issues, those concerns will then be prioritised and sent to Shropshire Council for consideration as future road safety projects.
Please contact the Parish Clerk by 10.9.13 with any road safety issues you are aware of and wish to be considered

Parish Clerk got a reaction from suenick in Enterprise opportunity
Selattyn and Gobowen Parish Council are looking for someone to sell light refreshments – ice cream, tea, coffee etc. from the pavilion building on St Martins Road during the weekends over the Summer. The person will be self employed and must have the appropriate food hygiene certificates and insurance. However Shropshire Council will be able to give advice on this
The Parish Council are prepared to rent the building at reduced rate to help a possible new catering enterprise. The aim of the project is to encourage more families to use the playing field in the summer months and if it goes well the project could be extended. If you are interested in finding out more information please get in touch with the parish clerk Penny O’Hagan parishclerksg@gmail.com
