  1. The Shropshire volunteer group require a new Group Coordinator to bring the local volunteers together, to motivate and co-ordinate the groups activities. The Shropshire group is largely in a rural area except for Shrewsbury, covering Upton Magna to Welsh End. Summary of tasks: - Write & regularly revisit a group plan with your Volunteer Coordinator & Area Manager - Carry out your group plan with your group, including activities such as signing and maintenance of the local National Cycle Network and events to promote active travel. - Run a programme of events to be delegated and organised by the whole group. - Keep the group informed of local activities they can join in, including organising regular meetings, communications and socials. - Keep a simple record of activities to report back as required. - Help your Volunteer Coordinator to recruit new volunteers as needed. Skills required: We are looking for an: - Excellent communicator - Good motivator, acting as support & encouragement for others - Be able to identify skills and interest in the group and co-ordinate activities and responsibilities - Be able to work with a diverse range of people - Be committed to the Sustrans ethos Time commitment A few hours a month, which may include workdays, events, meetings and communication with the group.   2. This essential role acts to co-ordinate the local Sustrans volunteer group. The group is in a semi rural area in Shropshire. Communication with Sustrans staff and volunteers is a big part of this role, as well as making volunteering fun for all locally. The group co-ordinator helps all the volunteers to use their skills and interests so they can really get involved. You will be involved with our volunteer rangers, staff and partners to help maintain and promote the National Cycle Network and put it at the heart of the local community. You will also help our volunteers and staff to promote Sustrans' other projects which encourage and support people to travel in ways which benefit their health and the environment. (Role description attached) There are a number of volunteers already active in the area. The role will start in the New Year, but there is the opportunity to meet up with the existing Group Co-ordinator in November, learn about the role and meet the group before taking over.
