  10. Anyone know anything about a Weston Rhyn youth football project?
  11. As I mentioned, I have no problem in you joining the forum and giving factual and unbiased information about energy extraction in the locality the forum covers. You will notice that the 'campaigns' you are highlighting are specifically about our area.
  12. Hi Luke Ashley Firstly welcome to the forum, I checked out a few of your links and removed them. I am happy for you to join our forum and give factual, unbiased information about energy extraction specifically in our area, however be aware that this is a local community forum and I don't want it to be a platform for any potential larger scale campaigning.
  13. There's an article in the Oswestry Advertizer - http://www.bordercountiesadvertizer.co.uk/news/129419/doctor-apologises-to-residents-over-proposals-to-close-weston-rhyn-surgery.aspx Includes quotes from Maggie, institutewatcher and David G Lloyd
  14. Thank you Simple Simon glad to help :)
  15. Sounds like there was a reasonable turn out, the Shropshire Star reporting more than 50 residents attended.
  16. Thanks for the update Sue. Very best wishes to Nick, hoping for a speedy recovery and back home soon.
  17. I have never used the service at the Institute, but I would have thought it was very useful to the people of Weston Rhyn. Maybe institutewatcher can answer some of your questions.
  18. If you use the cycle routes in the area you may know that Route 31 runs from Oswestry, through Hengoed to Gobowen, to Ellesmere and on to join Route 45 in Whitchurch. The route has changed to become route 455 and is in the process of being renumbered. Myself and a group of Sustrans Volunteers were out of the weekend renumbering the route.... and if like me, got soaked in the process. There are probably a few signs that still need changing over, but at least you are now aware that Route 455 is the former Route 31.
  19. Felt B16 Triathlon/Time Trial Bike FOR SALE Listed on Ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271289153374?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 NOW SOLD
  20. So it's looking like we aren't in the Shropshire program because we are on the welsh Chirk exchange, but we don't get upgraded because we are in Shropshire. Is it confirmed that we aren't in the Shropshire upgrade program? When I put in my postcode on the Connecting Shropshire webpage it says that my address is part of the program. It's a shame @connectingshrop aren't as good at responding on Twitter as @superfastcymru
  21. I found the page with news of the syllabus being available - http://www.oswestry-tc.gov.uk/news/article/article/oswestry-youth-music-festival-2014.html It mentions you can download from the Youth Music Festival Page but doesn't link to it. If the page is.... http://www.oswestry-tc.gov.uk/council-services/oswestry-youth-music-festival.html then there is no syllabus to download.
  22. I think some people have been brainwashed a little in to thinking they require these superfast internet speeds of 30 - 40Mb when in reality they are only sending emails and browsing webpages. All I think I am after is a reliable, consistent speeds say 10Mb or even 5Mb as long as I got that pretty much all of the time. Weston Rhyn seems to be very inconsistent, In a very unscientific test I got myself and someone in a neighbouring road to test the line at the same moment. I was getting around 100k and they were getting 4Mb.

  24. I have just had a thought about this...... It's Community Online's 2nd Birthday on the 12th of October and I was planning a little event to mark the occasion. It would be open to anyone who wants to come along..... but what if we specifically put out an invite to UnLtd and the projects it has supported in the area? Maybe people could do a little presentation to showcase what they have been doing, and possibly and opportunity to discuss any future ideas of support/funding. It would also be an opportunity to put names to faces, meet and greet etc.
