  1. Sounds interesting who runs the group? Although 9.15am on a Sunday!! :o
  2. Few white flakes in Oswestry but no real snow :(
  3. Remind me not to take so much time off..... It's amazing how much fitness I have lost in the 4 weeks after the Great Birmingham Run. So I have been back in training for 3 weeks, so far its been 3 sessions in the gym each week and my 1500 metre swim set once a week. Good news is that the knee/ITB trouble at Birmingham seems to have gone and my shoulder feels like its finally getting back to full strength. Time to up the training and add in some run and bike work......
  4. Found this on Twitter http://www.twitter.com/OswestryWalkers Their profile says they are the Walkers are Welcome group working towards accreditation.
  5. I have been informed that Book Box is open to everyone. :D
  6. SS, I do know that hill! and thats a pretty good circuits you are doing there. I do most of my training on a road bike so you do need a reasonable road surface. Then the triathlons are done on my TT bike.

    Canals

Wow there is over 500 photos in that Flickr group already. Do we know if there are any local pictures?
  8. So I have done a few triathlons this year, 6 to be precise, I have the carbon fibre bike, the expensive aero wheels and tri clothing, all that's lacking is the talent. So I decided its time to get the serious training in and I decided to write a blog about my journey. So here it is, blog entry one, the beginning.......
  9. Thought I would be the first to post and show people how to enter...... Lee Coffee White No Sugar
  10. I assume this is the place you are referring to, http://flic.kr/p/aEyXjv Always thought it would make a cool house, would be a shame to see it go, but I guess the land would always be worth more for housing.
  11. hmmmm route looks a bit straight, but could well be coming through Chirk Bank and Weston Rhyn looking at that map.
  12. Do you know the exact route? When you say "here", does that mean Chirk Bank?
  13. Went along the the Oswestry Fire station event, watched from Mount Road though. Got showered with flying embers..... Seemed a very good turn out, better weather than Friday's events.
  14. Maybe the karate students you supported might like to write a blog on this site. Their travelling and championship experiences might make some interesting reading.

  16. Fantasic to hear that Silo lives on and all the great work it is still doing in Gobowen. That's over 20 years of helping the youth of the area! Well done to all the people that have been involved over the years in this project.
  17. Connecting Shropshire survey here http://connectingshropshire.co.uk/ I think our trouble is that we are either on the extremeties of the Oswestry exchange or on the outdated Chirk exchange.
  18. You can indeed, I can bring a form along to Tuesday's meeting.
  19. Well it's all done now.... 6 triathlons, 3 half marathons, 2 10k road races, 1 5mile road race, 1 250mile bike tour, 1 mountain walking challenge, 1 100mile cycle, and 1 mountain bike challenge.... If you never got around to sponsoring me for Cancer Research UK you still can at www.area37.co.uk
  20. What an interesting thought into making old phone boxes into something new. Like the idea of a cool quirky notice board. Split into levels you could also add in something along the lines of what Maggie has suggested.
  21. For people that know me, you will probably be aware that I have been taking part in a few events this year to raise money for Cancer Research UK. Well, this Sunday's Great Birmingham Run will be my 16th and final challenge of the year. With a few offline donations I think my current total is getting close to £600, it would be great to get this even higher. Have a look at http://www.area37.co.uk it shows the year's challenges, and you if your are feeling generous you can sponsor me safely through Just Giving, thanks :D

I did pop along to the meeting and had a brief word about the forum and gave out a few cards with the website address. There is a survey about the broadband over at http://www.connectingshropshire.co.uk
